It all started with the Andrea Bocelli concert cancellation in Sofia. It all started with the Andrea Bocelli concert cancellation in Sofia. Most of our team members had tickets for the tenor’s concert and there were also another two – an award to one of our fans via the “I love Italy” application. In other words, there have been many disappointed fans of Bocelli. As the desire for listening to the great tenor was very strong, our boss did not leave us to suffer long and just said: “Well, as there won’t be a Bocelli concert in Sofia, there will be “A Bocelli night” in the Trattoria.” No sooner said-done!
We made possibly the most effective organization – we contacted the Bulgarian tenor Plamen Papazikov to perform a selection of the Bocelli repertoire, Chef Giuseppe started out to prepare a special menu for the evening, Iskra – our charming hostess, accepted your reservations, small design details and, spread word of mouth, from a friend to another, the interest was a fact. Everything was going well since the weather forecasts started announcing predictions like “cold weather“, „windy weather“, even “storm and hail”. The “To Be or Not to Be “dilemma stuck our enthusiasm and scales tilted to cancelation two days before the event. Nevertheless, our boss, in determined optimism, decided firmly: “Bocelli – a second disappointment for our fans – this is no good – there will be a concert!”
Saturday, 31st of May: The cold is a fact; at least the weather forecasts did their best and made a deal with the weather not to rain. The guests started to arrive and we welcomed them with Aperol Spritz – the ideal aperitif, bright orange in color and great in taste. The guests made themselves comfortable round the tables and enjoyed how Maestro Giuseppe was cooking two kinds of pasta in front of them. Although we have prepared a tasting menu of fish, bon filet and pizza, the pasta was the most preferable dish. The fine wine and the good conversations, the exquisite site and nice atmosphere made up completely for the vagaries of weather.
Plamen Papazikov and his colleague started their performance of common arias in 9.30 pm sharp. The powerful tenor voices and the magnificent performance impressed not only our guests, but many neighbors and passerby.
The mini concert was over in great applauses, and there we were – tasting the Giuseppe’s desserts already – Tiramisu and homemade ice cream with panettone and almonds. It was obvious that our guests had a really nice time and felt cozy, but the evening was coming to its end, unfortunately. Stay tuned for our new event soon.
